CDDIS Bulletin - February 1999
Volume 14 No. 3

In this issue:

About the cover: The map on the cover of this issue of the CDDIS Bulletin shows the current network of sites supporting IGEX-98 which has been extended until April 19, 1999. Over sixty sites have supported the experiment since its start in October 1998.

Office Relocations

In late February, personnel from the Space Geodesy Program at GSFC, including the Space Geodesy Networks and Sensor Calibration Office (Code 920.1), the Geoscience Technology Office (920.3), the Space Geodesy Branch (Code 926), and the CDDIS (Code 920.1) relocated to Building 33 at GSFC. This move has required a change in phone numbers; new numbers known at the time of publication are shown in Table 1 below. The old phone numbers can be used until the end of March; most of the affected personnel have left their new phone numbers on their voice mail recordings.

The CDDIS computer facility is not scheduled to move to Building 33 until mid-summer. Notices will be sent out via email and published in the CDDIS Bulletin as move dates are known.

DATA BITS AND BYTES

This section is designed to give brief notices of special events, new data sets, or problems encountered in recent months. The CDDIS staff believes the user community should be informed of these problems in order to ensure that the best results possible are produced from data issued by the archive.

Permanent GPS Network Update

Since the December 1998 issue of the CDDIS Bulletin, the CDDIS has archived daily (Table 2) and hourly (Table 3) data from the following new GPS tracking sites:

Please note a correction to the table in the December 1998 issue; the source of data for the GPS receiver in Urumqi China is GeoForschungsZentrum in Potsdam Germany. We regret the confusion this error has caused.
